What is it?
Essentially, search engine optimization is a fancy name for getting your website higher up in search engine results. The better optimized your website is, the closer your site will show up to the first results page.
Why is it important?
Those that do not have their website optimized for search engines will find that it takes much longer for their new product to show up in popular search engines like Google, if it does at all. Without this service, the potential growth of your website is stunted, for it makes it significantly more difficult for people to find it through search engines.
How does it work?
There are two parts to SEO: the code that the website is created from, and additional advertising and networking. The code-based SEO techniques involve embedding keywords that reflect the content of your website. These keywords are registered by bots, or search engine indexers. The other side of SEO involves submitting your URL to various website directories, as well as exchanging links with other reputable websites. Both aspects are required to attain the maximum benefits of SEO.
Does VWD include SEO with their websites?
Partially. I include basic SEO techniques (code-based) with the websites we develop. However, as mentioned above, only part of SEO involves the code itself. In order to get the full benefits of SEO, the non-code-based SEO techniques must be implemented as well, which only come with the separate SEO service.
