Process outline
Step 1: Gather information
This website has a great deal of information on my various services, as well as common questions that clients have. If you are just starting out and are not quite sure what you are looking for, check out the services page. For other questions, the FAQ tab and all of its subsidiary pages are a great resource for the prospective client.
Step 2: Free consultation
Once you have decided which service (or services) you are interested in, use the order form to submit your request for a consultation. Keep in mind that you are not obligated to commit to the service. Submitting the form simply allows me to get in touch with you and begin discussing your needs. If you just need to contact me for any reason, you can use the contact form.
Step 3: Deposit, begin project
My policy for payment is that clients make a 25% up-front deposit, then pay off the remaining 75% at their leisure (either gradually as the project is being completed or all at once after the project is finished). After the deposit has been received, work on the project will begin. For website development and business card design, a rough draft will be sent to you, at which time you may make revisions. You can make unlimited revisions for no extra cost.
Step 4: Submit final draft
Before your website goes live, we will send you the design once again, where you can make any last-minute revisions. Once you give us the go-ahead, your site will be put on the Internet for everyone to see.
Step 5: Housekeeping
Once the website is live, we take care of some housekeeping items. First, I provide you with a way to update your website (an application that installs on your computer). Second, I register the website with Google Analytics, a web application used to track a website's various statistics (ie. number of hits, traffic levels, etc.). A link to your website's statistics page will be sent to you so that you can check them whenever you like.
Step 6: Post-project checkups
One thing that separates Vicarious Web Development from other companies is that my job is not done once a client's website is complete. I revise projects free of charge for the first two weeks after the website goes live. In addition, I will contact you periodically to ensure that your website is operating as planned and that you are completely satisfied with the end product.
